16 pieces of Ditrac Bait. This is the typical amount required for one Pulse (we pulse quarterly). This is a restricted product and needs to be used in compliance with our recommended SOP. Your street coordinator will deliver to you in tamper proof pails.

SAFETY INFO FOR THE USE OF DITRAC

The active ingredient is Dipahcinone, and it is toxic to terrestrial animals.

To keep yourself and your baitline buddy safe, please don't ingest it, don't breathe in the dust, nor get it in your eyes - we want the rats poisoned, not our excellent volunteers and staff! Please keep unused bait in the tamper proof pail provided.

Please use gloves when putting Ditrac into the bait stations.

Toxins are poisons and their misuse can affect people, plants, livestock, pets and other non-target species. Improper use can lead to excessive toxin buildup in the environment.

• Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions, product label and Safety Data Sheet – to avoid buildup or poisoning it’s crucial to use as per the label

• Wear protective gear (e.g. strong rubber or leather gloves, face mask), keep toxins contained in bait stations and make sure stations are clearly signposted.

• Most poisons have antidotes but they must be administered by a vet/doctor in the early stages.

• If poisoning is suspected, contact a vet/doctor immediately or call the National Poisons Centre on 0800 764 766 (0800 POISON).

• Remove old or unused bait before refilling stations and avoid ground spillage. Dispose of it responsibly offsite (read product labels for advice).

• Place bait stations at least 5 metres from public walkways and back from waterways. Ensure livestock, dogs and children cannot access the bait stations (always secure them well if on fences and facing away from paddocks; place at heights where they cannot access the bait).

• Lockable, tamper-proof stations are best and all stations should be secured to the ground with metal pins or attached to a stake or tree. This reduces the chances of non-target interference especially by children, livestock or dogs. Include clear warning signs.

FURTHER FIRST-AID MEASURES

Ingestion: In the event of ingestion, DO NOT induce vomiting. Wash out your mouth thoroughly with water. Call a doctor or emergency physician at your nearest hospital. For further advice, contact the National Poisons Centre at 0800 POISONS (Phone 0800 764 766)

Eye Contact: Irrigate with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses if they are present and easy to remove. If redness, itching, or a burning sensation develops, have your eyes examined by a medical professional.

Skin Contact: Wash contaminated skin thoroughly with soap and water. If redness, itching, or a burning sensation develops, seek medical attention.

Contaminated Clothing: Remove contaminated clothing and wash it before re-use. Wear gloves, long sleeves and pants when handling toxins. Clothing and gloves should be decontaminated by washing in hot soapy water

NOTES TO PHYSICIAN

The product contains Diphacinone, a compound that affects the blood and hematopoietic system. If ingested, administer Vitamin K1 intramuscularly or orally as indicated by bishydroxycoumarin overdoses. Repeat as necessary based upon monitoring of prothrombin times.

SYMPTOMS OF POISONING:

May reduce the clotting ability of the blood.
