Titirangi Urban Sanctuary Art Competition
“Protecting Beautiful Titirangi”

Calling young junior artists! Think about the idea of protecting beautiful Titirangi. When you design your art, interpret this however you like, native birds, bush, beaches, waterways, people caring for the land, trapping predators, or celebrating community action. Most importantly - show your love for beautiful Titirangi.
Entries will be judged in three age categories
- 5–7 years
- 8–10 years
- 11–13 years
Artwork Specifications - please submit your work according to these specifications
Paper size: A4 (210 x 297 mm)
- Orientation: Portrait ( google this to see what this means if you are unsure)
- You can use crayon, coloured pencil, watercolour, acrylic, ink, pastels, collage (flat, no bulky 3D items).
- *please do not use glitter, metallic paint or stickers
- Format for submission:
- Original paper artwork - please ensure your name is on the back of your work in pencil. Please submit your parent/guardian permission form along with your work.

- Entries can be submitted to your school office, or alternatively
- The Titirangi Library Bus is a drop off point for entries.
- Te Uru Gallery Shop/ Reception will also accept your entry

Judging & Prizes
- We will have a judging panel of three local art experts
- Criteria: Creativity, relevance to theme, artistic expression
- Prizes: Each winner (one from each age category) will receive a $150 voucher from the fabulous Gordon Harris Art supply store along with 5 plants from our native plant nursery.
- Winners will be announced via our website and Facebook page on 31st October.
Finalists work may be used for future fundraising such as...
- Calendar featuring winning artworks
- Greeting cards / Christmas cards.
- Tote bags, T shirts, posters.
- Exhibition
- *all artists will be credited unless requested

3. Consent & Release
As the parent or guardian as named above, I
- Confirm that the artwork submitted is the child’s own original work.
- Consent to my child’s participation in the Titirangi Urban Sanctuary Children’s Drawing Competition.
- Grant Titirangi Urban Sanctuary the right to:
- Exhibit, photograph, scan, reproduce, and publish my child’s artwork.
- Use the artwork (with or without the child’s first name and age) in printed materials, digital media, fundraising products (e.g., calendars, cards, merchandise), promotional campaigns, and exhibitions.
- Understand that:
- No royalties or financial compensation will be paid for use of the artwork.
- The copyright remains with the child artist, but Titirangi Urban Sanctuary is granted a perpetual, royalty-free license to use the artwork for the purposes described above.
- Consent to photographs being taken of my child at any related exhibition or prize-giving event, for publicity purposes. (Optional – tick below)
