Community Coordinator!

Part‑time contractor  Starting May 2026 (or earlier)
Titirangi Urban Sanctuary (TUS)  $45-$50 per hour

Kia ora everyone! TUS is looking for someone special to join our group as our next Community Coordinator.

This role is at the heart of what we do - connecting with locals, supporting our amazing volunteers, and helping keep our predator control, planting, community events, and day‑to‑day organising running smoothly.

A bit about the role:

  • Part‑time hours (around 16–20 hrs/week, depending on funding)
  • Contractor position
  • Some evening or weekend work here and there for meetings or events
  • You’ll be working closely with volunteers and the wider community
  • You’d be stepping into a role with strong foundations already in place (our current Coordinator has done an awesome job)

We think this could suit someone who:

  • Enjoys connecting with people and building relationships
  • Is calm, friendly, and good at reading situations
  • Likes variety and is good at  juggling lots of small tasks
  • Wants meaningful, steady part‑time work
  • Cares about community and the local environment
  • Is happy being the “go‑to” person for our volunteers and neighbours

You don’t need to be a conservation expert - but being great with engaging people (e.g. locals, Auckland Council, local iwi Te Kawerau a Maki, Schools) matters most.

Why TUS is a lovely place to work

We’re a friendly, diverse bunch who care deeply about Titirangi. You’ll be supported by kind, welcoming Trustees and volunteers who work together, laugh together, and genuinely care for each other and our local neighbourhood.

Contact us for more information or send your CV and a short note telling us why the role feels right for you. admin@tus.nz
